Position Overview:

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards. You will perform inspections, tests, and real-time monitoring of production processes to ensure compliance with design specifications.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Monitor & Inspect: Oversee production to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
2. Material Control: Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Cross-reference with drawing specifications and manage material documentation.
3. Fabrication Control: Assist in welding procedures, identify defects, and report findings. Ensure parts are properly marked for dispatch.
4. Documentation: Develop Manufacturer Data Reports (MDRs), maintain detailed inspection records, and create Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
5. Continuous Improvement: Recommend corrective actions, resolve quality issues, and participate in efforts to enhance product quality and reduce defects.


Testing & Measurement:

1. Conduct tests using precision instruments like calipers, micrometres, and gauges.
2. Use 3D scanning technology (as required) to ensure products meet required standards.
3. Record and maintain accurate documentation of testing results.


Qualifications:

* Mechanical trade, technician, or engineering background, with heavy fabrication experience in workshop or site environments.


Key Skills & Abilities:

* Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques (welding, machining, cutting) for pipework, ducting, plate, and structural elements.
* Ability to use quality control tools and measuring equipment effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
* Familiarity with industry regulations is a plus.
* Experience in Defence, major construction, or shipbuilding projects is highly desirable.
