**Position Description: Operations Manager**
**Location**: South Melbourne Care Services, Melbourne, VIC
**Agreement/Award**: SCHADS/Nurses Award (dependent on experience)

**Responsible to**: The Director, South Melbourne Care Services
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in administering services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and provides hands-on leadership to support individuals in achieving their goals.
As the key link between the service design and delivery team and the Director, the Operations Manager oversees various responsibilities:
- **Compliance Oversight**: Ensuring strict adherence to all NDIS regulations and standards.
- **Strategic Growth**: Identifying and pursuing business growth opportunities.
- **Policy Implementation**: Developing and enforcing policies aligned with legal and ethical standards.
- **Audit Management**: Leading internal and external audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- **Marketing and Advertisement**: Overseeing marketing strategies to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.
- **Documentation Management**: Ensuring accuracy and currency of legal, ethical, and operational documentation.
- **Collaboration**: Streamlining processes and improving service delivery in coordination with the Operations Manager and Office Manager.
- **Restrictive Practice Reporting**: Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements for approved restrictive practices, as determined by the behavior specialist.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **People Mentoring and Development**:
- Mentoring, developing, and supervising service facilitators.
- Establishing and maintaining supports and services that empower individuals to live with dignity and autonomy.
- Oversight of the wider team of support workers.
- **Service Delivery**:
- Contributing to high-quality service delivery.
- Promoting a clear vision of service quality, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Prioritizing and matching referrals to appropriate services.
- Providing internal and external reports.
- Facilitating networks to support self-determination.
- Actively participating in promotional activities.
- Supporting participants and their families/carers.
- Building strong relationships with funders, referral agencies, and community groups.
- Sharing knowledge and skills through training and mentoring.
3. **Planning**:
- Collaborates with the Director to develop strategies and plans for delivering excellent support to our current base of individuals.
- Ensures that people's options for support are thoroughly explored, and referrals are promptly acted upon by the most relevant service facilitator within the area.
- **Budget Management**:
- Supports the Director in developing and delivering services within the allocated budget.
- Ensures efficient resource utilization, particularly regarding support workers, travel expenses, and other costs, without compromising the needs of those we support.
- Manages budgeted support delivery and addresses any over-delivery within agreed parameters.
- Actively participates in staff meetings.
- Contributes to strategic and business planning, leading projects to advance South Melbourne Care Services' objectives.
- Produces necessary reports.
- Maintains professional development.
**Skills, Attributes, and Experience (Essential)**:
- Comprehensive understanding of business administration.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of person-centered principles.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, fostering relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Relevant commercial practice experience, emphasizing design, planning, and costings.
- Broad knowledge of financial processes related to individual funding and budgets, along with high-level conceptual and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
- Experience in implementing procedural changes.
- Awareness of key reform agendas impacting the community services sector.
- Qualification in disability and/or health.
- Completion of the NDIS Mandatory Orientation module.
- Adherence to the NDIS Code of Conduct.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
