Who are we looking for?
GHD's Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Group in Victoria is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team in one of our Victorian offices – Melbourne, Geelong, Mildura, Traralgon or Albury-Wodonga.
You'll be part of our Hydrogeology team, working alongside a diverse group of hydrogeologists, engineers and geoscientists. Our team delivers specialist technical advice and services across groundwater resource management, impact assessment, environmental protection, infrastructure development, and mining. You'll also collaborate with our global hydrogeology network, contributing to projects across Australia, Asia Pacific and beyond.
Responsibilities
 * Leading and supporting hydrogeological investigations and assessments across municipal and commercial scale water supply, mining, infrastructure and environmental sectors.
 * Designing and managing field programs including bore design, installation, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring and sampling.
 * Developing and refining conceptual hydrogeological models and supporting numerical modelling efforts.
 * Providing technical advice on groundwater resource planning, impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
 * Preparing and reviewing technical reports, proposals, budgets and work programs.
 * Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing and capability development.
 * Engaging with clients and stakeholders to build strong relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
 * Relevant tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology or related discipline.
 * 10+ years of experience in hydrogeological consulting or applied groundwater science.
 * Strong technical skills in groundwater investigations, conceptualisation and impact assessment.
 * Experience with Victoria's groundwater framework, regulations and policy is highly desirable.
 * Proficiency in data analytics, including coding and spatial analytics through GIS, to support hydrogeological modelling.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
 * Experience in managing projects and project teams effectively.
 * A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring and team development.
