About The Scholarship

Swinburne University of Technology has established a new, world‑class collaboration with Boeing Aerostructures Australia Pty Ltd and CSIRO's Data 61 department to conduct next‑generation research into aerostructures and sustainability for Australia's aerospace and advanced manufacturing industry.

The research program has been designed with research and industry leaders to reinforce Australia's capability in manufacturing advanced composites for civil aerospace projects to meet future sustainability targets and reduce overall footprint in aerostructures design and manufacture.


About You

* The ability to work independently and drive the project while staying connected to your supervisory team at Swinburne and representatives of Boeing and CSIRO.
* Experience in one or more of the following topic areas:
o Digital engineering and manufacturing, including model‑based engineering
o Digital‑physical systems validation – digital twins to qualification
o Innovative design and manufacturing of aerostructures
o Composite materials manufacturing
o Data science, machine learning for augmented design and manufacturing


Qualifications

A 4‑year Bachelor (Honours) degree with 1st or 2nd class honours; and/or a Master's degree in mechanical, manufacturing or materials engineering or a related field; and/or a Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience.
