Your opportunity:
* The role of the Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer is to provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients/clients of Integrated Care Services, including the ED Avoidance model (STREAM) and/or Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
* In addition to the key responsibilities listed below, the Senior Medical Officer may be directed to provide services as reasonably required by the Professional or Operational Manager.
This position is Permanent Part Time (60 hours p.f.), with the possibility of working Temporary Full Time (80 hours p.f.) for the first 12 months, which may be extended.
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals, with support for:
* Use of private hospital sessional rooms for practice setup and referral pathways
* Credentialling and administrative support for private practice
* Introduction to local GPs, physicians, and surgeons for referrals
