About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable cook to join our kitchen team in our residential aged care facility. The role focuses on preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents’ individual dietary and cultural needs.
Key Duties
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus
- Cater for special dietary requirements including texture-modified diets, allergies and medical needs
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and infection control standards
- Assist with menu planning and stock rotation
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and safe food handling practices
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a cook (aged care, healthcare or commercial kitchen experience preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Understanding of dietary needs in aged care (desirable)
Requirements
- Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
