Your Role
This role is designed to provide you with a strong foundation of underwriting knowledge and industry experience to support your career development.
You will be working within the Branch Underwriting team to contribute to the achievement of department, branch and corporate goals relative to profit, growth, service producer and client relations.
This includes learning our end-to-end underwriting process, understanding how we assess and manage risk and how we build long-term relationships with brokers and clients.
Your Responsibilities
* Assist Underwriters in achieving new business targets for assigned book of business.
* Provide input on underwriting results, market environment and competitor analysis.
* Collaborate with NUC and other internal customers regarding book management strategy and maintenance of "one voice" with brokers.
* Assist with preparation for account reviews with Underwriters/management.
* Manage sales pipeline to identify and develop new business prospects.
Underwriting Quality & Compliance
* Adhere to appropriate underwriting, compliance and file documentation standards and workflows.
* Evaluate and make recommendation for acceptance or declination on risks based on existing referral guidelines.
* Recommend account trade-off decisions.
Producer Relations
* Develop and manage producer relationships.
* Deal with queries and handle any issues arising.
* Engage in external visits with Underwriter to discuss risks and communicate business opportunities.

* Competent in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
