About Us

For over 140 years we have been working at the forefront of gender equality through our housing, community programs and advocacy. Our five-year plan has a focus on making young women's leadership and women's housing our priority for gender equity in Australia. Learn more about us here.

About the role

We are looking for a Team Leader, Lived Experience and Advocacy Program (LEAP), to lead the growth and delivery of LEAP and the Amplifying Voices Program, ensuring the voices of people with lived experience of Homelessness and Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) shape policy, programs, and practice through meaningful engagement and advocacy.

In this role you will:

* Lead the design and delivery of trauma-aware, strengths-based, and culturally safe programs that elevate lived experience voices in homelessness and DFSV.
* Build strong partnerships with government, community, and sector stakeholders to support advocacy and impact.
* Oversee sub-contractors, partners and program components, including culturally specific initiatives and evaluations.
* Promote LEAP and the Amplifying Voices Program, and support ethical, participant-led advocacy, while ensuring compliance, reporting, and budget management.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

* Relevant qualifications and sector experience in social work, community development, health promotion, or related fields (postgraduate desirable).
* A strong background in lived experience advocacy and program management.
* Proven ability to build trusted relationships with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD groups, and senior stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, co-design principles, and the ethical foundations of lived experience advisory bodies.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce complex documentation and facilitate inclusive, accessible engagement.

Don't meet every single requirement? At YWCA Australia we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If this role speaks to you but your past experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.
