This developer / builder offers employees the opportunity to work their magic on some truly beautiful high rise residential projects. They have been an established brand in SEQ for the better part of 2 decades and they have a particularly strong presence right now.
Their current projects range from $50m - circa $100m and historically have been known to deliver cutting edge products including one of the largest timber high rise buildings anywhere in Australia.
We are currently looking to appoint a new Design Manager to manage the design phase through to the delivery phase. You will be fortunate enough to join a leading brand with established systems and processes as well as a brand that has relationships with the appropriate authorities and consultancies to turn concepts into real life.
**Role**:
The Design Manager has the following specific areas of responsibility:
- Initial and ongoing procurement strategies
- Review designs, recommend improvements and provide value adding solutions
- Contract negotiations
- On-going design enhancement and improvement
- Manage design consultancies and achieve the best outcomes for the project
**Person**:
- Technical knowledge
- Ability to read technical drawings and foresee design and construction complications and cost savings
- Ability to identify cost savings through improving buildability and procurement
- Ability to translate technical requirement into policies and procedures
- Strong procurement strategy implementation
- High standard and well received internal and external design outcomes
- Experience working for a mid or upper tier construction company
- Strong Structural design knowledge
