The Manning Hospital Occupational Therapy Department has an excellent opportunity for a versatile, experienced professional to join their dynamic team on a temporary part time basis!
About The Role
As a Palliative Care Occupational Therapist, you will deliver highly specialised services to patients under the Community Palliative Care team. You will play a crucial role in supporting patients' end-of-life care by working closely with Palliative Care Specialist Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health teams. This position also maintains a strong connection with the Cancer Service Occupational Therapist and the inpatient Occupational Therapy team.
This role is shared with a 0.4FTE Palliative Care OT, ensuring five-day service provision. Your responsibilities will include attending weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, effective clinical handovers, and providing leave relief for the Oncology OT role.
About You
You are a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist dedicated to delivering patient-centred end-of-life care. You possess:
Strong time management and communication skills.The ability and willingness to travel within the sector as required.The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.Experience in palliative care, complex equipment prescription, and pressure care (highly desirable).A willingness to support less experienced staff and students.A commitment to service planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.Experience in palliative care or a related field (desirable).Current NSW Driver's Licence and ability to travel as required.
