With a rapidly growing portfolio, they are now seeking a Project Director with proven capability in delivering and winning major defence infrastructure programs.
About the Role :
As Project Director, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder defence construction projects, while also playing a critical role in positioning the business to secure future work.
You will bring Tier 1 or large Tier 2 delivery experience, commercial acumen, and credibility within Defence Estate Works and Infrastructure. You’ll establish collaborative client and stakeholder relationships to deliver exceptional project outcomes and support the company’s ambitious growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
* Lead end-to-end delivery of complex defence infrastructure programs (e.g., Shoalwater Bay Training Area Redevelopment, RAAF Base Tindal and Amberley upgrades)
* Establish and drive project vision, strategy, objectives, and delivery plans.
* Oversee design development, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases.
* Champion safety, environmental and quality excellence on all projects.
Stakeholder & Client Management :
* Act as primary interface with Defence (Estate & Infrastructure Group, base stakeholders)
* Manage complex stakeholder environments, ensuring project objectives are met while maintaining operational continuity of live bases.
* Drive commercial performance, manage risk and ensure contractual obligations are met.
* Lead claims management, extensions of time, and variation negotiations.
Winning Work / Business Development :
* Identify and help secure new opportunities with Defence, leveraging relationships and market insights.
* Contribute to tender strategies, bid leadership and client presentations.
* Build and mentor high-performing project teams, aligned to the company’s values.
* Foster a collaborative and solutions-focused culture.
About You :
* Tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
* Track record working on projects such as :
* Shoalwater Bay Training Area redevelopment
* Navy Capability Infrastructure Sub-Program (NCIS)
* Explosive ordnance storage and aviation infrastructure works
* Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage large programs and deliver profitable outcomes.
* Credible and trusted operator with Defence clients and consultants.
* Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary project teams.
* Proven ability to contribute to business growth through winning work and client relationship development.
* Deep understanding of Defence project delivery models and stakeholder environment.
