About the Role
* Position based Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church - Cnr Atkinson St & Mayers St, Manunda QLD 4870
* Clerks Private Sector Award - Level 3to Level 5, dependent on skills and experience
Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, is located in Manunda, Cairns and forms part of the Cairns Catholic Diocese. We are seeking a passionate Administration Officer to provide administrative/secretarial support and services often of a confidential nature, to the parish community and the Parish Priest. Reporting to the Parish Priest, the Administration Officer will, amongst other duties, coordinate bookings and events, ordering of supplies, preparing and distributing weekly bulletins and maintaining official parish registers, data bases and rosters.
A good understanding of the Catholic Church and Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, reception of Holy Communion, Weddings etc), is a requirement of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
The position provides administrative/secretarial support and services, often of a confidential nature, to the parish community and the Parish Priest. This position will ensure the effective and timely delivery of parish services to a high standard, in keeping with the dignity and purpose of the faith community.
This service driven role requires excellence in communication and high-level interpersonal skills with passion and drive to maintain integrity and professionalism.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Knowledge of Catholic faith practices, and beliefs, and commitment to the Principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
* Proven experience in a similar administrative role, with expertise in officesystems, processes and customer service.
* High-level communication and relationship building skills with an ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care, Safeguarding principles and Work, Health and Safety requirements.
* Ability to work autonomously and have well developed written communication, organisational and time management skills.
* As a genuine occupational requirement, the position requires that the Employee's conduct and lifestyle align with principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
* A valid, unrestricted Queensland driver's license.
* Suitable Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
