The Role
The company specialises in delivering remote area building projects in the Northern Territory. We are currently seeking the services of a qualified Site Administrator and also Carpenters, Roofers, Plumbers and Welders who are Darwin/NT based and ready for an immediate start for remote building works in the Northern Territory. All employees work a 21/7 roster and there is ongoing work available.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Ensuring maintenance requests are completed as per the company's Policy;
- Ensuring all works undertaken are completed to a high standard;
- Performing all duties assigned by the Building Site Supervisor;
- Assistance with building supplies – ordering and delivery;
- Testing of equipment and machinery to ensure it is in valuable working order;
- Cleaning of the job site at end of day and ensure all equipment is properly secure for the night;
- Follow instructions to ensure safety of entire team;
- Work to company OHS policy.
Skills and experience required
- Must be physically fit and able to work outside in hot humid conditions;
- Trade position applicants must have a formal trade qualification;
- Have an understanding of building materials and the methods of ordering such materials;
- Must be willing to travel & work in remote communities by 4WD or light aircraft;
- Must be willing to spend complete roster in remote communities;
- Must be able to work unsupervised, and in a professional and timely manner;
- Must be able to assist & undertake duties in areas other than his/her own specific trade as required;
- Strong communication skills;
- Must be prepared to live in a remote DRY community while working.
- Must be willing and able to work well within a small team in a cross-cultural environment; and
- Must be willing to work with an onsite team and Supervisor.
What we Offer
- An attractive pay rate
- Casual & Fixed Term contracts available
- Roster System – generally 3 weeks on/1 week off
- 10 hour working days
- Shared accommodation and meals or a meal allowance is provided while working within remote communities
- Travel Allowance for travelling to remote communities
- Flights will be provided to remote communities from Darwin – any further travel will be at your own expense.
Desirable
Previous experience working in remote Indigenous communities.
