Applications are now open for a Mining Technical Trainer with Track Dozer and Excavator experience to support the growth of Greater Hope Downs Operations. We are seeking individuals with the right mindsets, values, and behaviours to onboard and develop our people. These roles are a great opportunity for people who are passionate about unlocking human capability, building a diverse culture, and supporting safe productivity.

The technical training teams scope includes New Starter Onboarding, Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) training and Komatsu FrontRunnerTM AHS training (desirable) to build the capability the Greater Hope Downs workforce.

Training requirements are defined by standardised learning pathway frameworks which incorporate the different levels of experience for new starters and existing employee ongoing development within each workstream. This is a great opportunity for those who have a passion in learning and delivering HME and AHS training.

Responsibilities
* Train and assess frontline workforce through one-on-one, infield, classroom, or group delivery
* Attend Prestart meetings with operational teams. Ensure travel is done in accordance with operational requirements, training assessors will travel to and from village to site as required via onsite buses with the operational teams relevant to the stream they are supporting
* Collaborate with on-job-trainers (OJTs) to facilitate in-field training in alignment with weekly training schedule
* Support front line operations and leadership teams with multiskilling team members
* Support the onboarding process for new starters
* Create a positive and engaging experience for new Rio Tinto employees

* Mining Experience – Have hands‐on experience in Mining with multiple types of Heavy Mobile Equipment, including proficiency with
o Track Dozers (desirable)
o Excavators & Shovels (desirable)
o Loaders
o Graders
o Water carts & Haul trucks
* Familiarity with Komatsu FrontRunnerTM – While not essential, familiarity with Komatsu FrontRunnerTM is advantageous. We are committed to providing upskilling opportunities if necessary
* Effective Time Management – Possess strong time management skills, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities, and a demonstrated capacity to support diverse groups in achieving desired outcomes
* Training Qualifications – Possessing an On Job Trainer qualification or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be beneficial

Where you'll be working

This position will be offered on a lifestyle friendly FIFO roster, 8 days on, 6 days off working at our Greater Hope Downs Operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Greater Hope Downs Operations is located on the land of the Banjima and Nyiyaparli people.
