About You
Drawing on your real-life experience, coupled with skills learned through education and training, the Peer Wellbeing Navigator will support and represent people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction.
You will be comfortable to share personal experiences with program consumers within a safe and supported way and will have personal experience of a mental illness or psychological distress and recovery.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Providing intentional peer supportProviding one on one service navigation and care planningFacilitating group peer sessionsCapacity buildingSupporting engagement with clinical supports

Working alongside other disciplines, you’ll play a key role in our collaborative network fostering a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth.
You will also need:
Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health servicesCertificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science OR 1+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker role100 points of identificationEvidence of right to work in AustraliaDrivers LicenceNational Police CheckInternational Police (if required)Working with Children Check - Blue CardNDIS Workers Screening CheckNDIS Workers Orientation Modules – free online course

Medicare Mental Health Centre will provide the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services. Walk-ins will be welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral will be needed.
