The Skills and Pathways directorate supports students to access secondary and post-school education and training options, building strong careers and a flourishing economy and society. We collaborate to develop policy, pilot innovative ideas, engage with industry and deliver programs to enhance skills and knowledge. We focus on unifying vocational and higher-education pathways.

**About the role**

The Program Manager, Pathways Strategy leads the coordination and delivery of support for the implementation of a new Department strategy across NSW government secondary schools, the Pathways for Secondary Students Strategy. The strategy has been developed to ensure every student is supported through pathways to succeed in post-school destinations.

As a key project team member to deliver the Pathways for Secondary Students Strategy across NSW, the role provides strategic project and change management oversight and support for the strategy, including governance and policy development and liaising with internal stakeholders including human resources and communications. The role liaises with school stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes will be achieved for students and to encourage school engagement with the strategy.

This is an outstanding long-term opportunity to play an important and foundational role at the inception of the Pathways and Vocational Education Strategy Team. **About you**
- High-level strategic project management and change management experience in a large, diverse and complex organisation
- Experience delivering complex and innovative programs and program initiatives that drive evaluation, reporting and accountability requirements, including establishing governance frameworks/structures and policy development
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills to promote and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholder groups, including the ability to foster strategic relationships with industry partners to broker, develop and deliver programs
- Experience and knowledge in developing and implementing appropriate governance and risk frameworks that inform planning, performance measures, assessment tools and systems, reporting standards, program direction and business objectives
- Ability to manage and mitigate risk, managing issues and project milestones to ensure programs are developed and progressed within required timeframes and to agreed outcomes
- Experience managing the administration and appropriate allocation of program budgets, including reporting on program outcomes and funding requirements
- People management experience with demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Degree qualification in related field and/or significant equivalent experience
- Working with Children Check for paid employment

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy_ _and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
