Our services range from routine garden and lawn maintenance to the design and implementation of new landscape projects, including turf laying, planting and the installation of irrigation systems. About the role To maintain, enhance, and care for gardens and landscaped areas, ensuring they are safe, healthy, visually appealing, and sustainably managed to Star Property Maintenance commercial clients. Duties and Responsibilities Implement landscape designs by preparing sites and installing plant layouts according to project plans Prepare ground surfaces, seed and lay turf for lawn establishment Plant, prune and maintain lawns, flowers, shrubs and trees as part of landscape installations Improve soil conditions through fertilizing, mulching and aeration Estimate material quantities and order plants, turf, soil and landscaping supplies for projects Construct small-scale landscape features such as decking, pathways, and water features Build and install steps, retaining walls, fences, and irrigation systems Maintain landscaped areas for private clients, strata, and commercial sites Clear debris, leaves and green waste to maintain clean, safe and presentable outdoor areas Carry out planting, pruning, mowing, edging, and general garden maintenance Prepare soil and garden beds, including fertilising and mulching Identify and control weeds, pests, and plant diseases Install and maintain irrigation systems Assist with hard landscaping tasks (paving, fencing, decking, retaining walls) Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery safely Follow landscape plans and site instructions accurately Ensure work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards Maintain high-quality presentation of landscaped areas Operate landscaping machinery and tools safely (mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, brush cutters, etc.) Ensure any hazards, accidents, injuries and near-misses are reported as soon as possible. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety-related equipment as and when required. Contribute to the development/improvement and follow policies and safe work procedures at all times. Participate in training and consultations relevant to work health and safety. Ensure you perform work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, policies and procedures. Essential Skills Strong practical knowledge of horticulture and plant care Ability to interpret site and landscape plans Skilled in operating commercial landscaping equipment Physically fit and able to perform outdoor manual work Proactive nature with an eye for detail and ability to use own initiative Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and accomplish objectives effectively within the timeframe given.
