About the role
This is a contract role for a Senior Business Analyst to join our client in Melbourne, Victoria. You will be responsible for working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for the implementation of the UKG payroll and HR system.
What you'll be doing
* Eliciting, documenting and validating business requirements from key stakeholders
* Translating business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications
* Providing guidance and support to the development team during the implementation phase
* Coordinating user acceptance testing and providing training to end-users
* Identifying and addressing issues and risks throughout the project lifecycle
* Collaborating with the project management team to ensure successful delivery of the UKG implementation
What we're looking for
* 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong track record of delivering successful system implementations
* Extensive experience working with HR and payroll systems, preferably UKG (formerly Kronos)
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively
* Proficient in business analysis methodologies and tools, such as process mapping, user stories and requirements documentation
* Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
Essential
* Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on medium‑to‑large system implementation projects.
* Familiarity with UKG / Kronos Workforce Management.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑mapping skills.
* Experience documenting business rules, workflows, and requirements.
* Experience designing and executing SIT and UAT test scenarios.
* Experience developing training and user‑support materials.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including workshop facilitation.
Desirable
* Experience in highly regulated environments.
* Understanding of SuccessFactors, payroll systems, or related HRIS environments.
* Experience with payroll parallel testing or award interpretation validation.
Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies preferred.
