BINSWEST is currently seeking casual full-time Waste Sorters to join our busy transfer station in Sunshine North. We have immediate openings with shifts running Monday to Saturday (full-time hours).

Key responsibilities include:
* General labouring support: Carry out day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth facility operations, including assisting colleagues and responding to operational needs.
* Material sorting: Identify, separate and sort recyclable materials such as bricks, cement, tiles, steel, timber and general waste, ensuring correct processing streams and placement is followed.
* Sustainability contribution: Recover and prepare materials for recycling and resale as eco-products, helping reduce landfill and promote environmental responsibility.
* Manual handling duties: Perform physical tasks such as sweeping, raking, lifting and cleaning, while following safe handling practices at all times.
* Facility upkeep: Maintain cleanliness across warehouse and work areas, ensuring a safe and organised environment.
* Equipment checks: Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery, promptly reporting any faults or safety concerns in line with company procedures.
* Safety compliance: Adhere to all workplace health and safety standards, using protective equipment and following safe work practices consistently.
* Work environment readiness: Operate effectively in a repetitive, noisy, and dusty industrial setting, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

* Reliability & punctuality: You show up on time, every time and can be counted on to complete tasks diligently. You take pride in producing consistent, high‑quality work.

* Comfort with industrial settings: You must be comfortable working around waste materials, including associated smells, dust, and noise.
* Team player mindset: No prior experience is required, but you bring a positive attitude, respect for colleagues, and a willingness to collaborate to achieve shared goals.
* Transport & accessibility: A current driver's licence and your own vehicle are highly preferred, as public transport options to the site are limited.
* Work rights: You hold full Australian working rights and are ready to commit to ongoing shifts.
* Licences & skills (desirable): Forklift, Bobcat, or Excavator licences are advantageous, though not essential.
* Positive attitude & willingness to learn: You embrace new challenges, adapt quickly, and are motivated to develop new skills.
* Independence & initiative: You can work unsupervised when required, taking responsibility for tasks and outcomes.
* Adaptability: You are flexible and capable of handling varied duties across the facility, from sorting to cleaning to equipment checks.
* Physical capability: You have the proven ability to safely perform manual labour, including lifting, sweeping, raking, and other repetitive tasks.
* Resilience in tough environments: You're prepared to roll up your sleeves and thrive in a heavy industrial setting that is noisy, dusty, and physically demanding.
* PPE: you must be have long sleeve and pants (Aus Stand compliant) and steel cap boots.
