The office of Andrew Willcox MP is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Office Manager based in the Dawson Electorate in Mackay, Queensland.
The Federal Member for Dawson, Andrew Willcox MP is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Office Manager. This position's primary function is to provide strategic team leadership and high-quality advice and support to the Parliamentarian across policy & staff management with excellent communication skills and organisational skills.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Leading and managing a dynamic team, solving problems, executing challenging projects, crafting strategic communications and coordinating diverse stakeholders.
Overseeing day to day management of the electorate office.
First point of contact for Ministerial and Parliamentary Services, IT, security, other service providers.
Inducting of new team members.
Planning and assisting with the running of electorate office events.
Preparing for and participating in regular team meetings and other shared office duties.
Setting clear expectations, role modelling respectful behaviour and promoting a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
Interstate and Canberra travel may be required for this role, with occasional irregular work hours, particularly during parliamentary sitting weeks.
Other duties as required to support the office.
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
Experience as an office manager and/or executive assistant, including the ability to manage office administration.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a close attention to detail and emphasis on good time management.
Strong office IT literacy – including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
Capacity to work both independently and co-operatively as part of a team.
Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including external providers.
Proven proactive and effective leadership and management capacity in demanding professional circumstances.
Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
An enthusiastic, positive, flexible, and people-orientated approach to work.
Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with PEMS, ParlICT and other Parliamentary platforms preferred, but not required.
A commencing salary of $84,933 - $95,670 will be paid dependant on experience and relevant skills.
An additional optional allowance of up to $ 35,793 may be considered in recognition of and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
