About the job:
* This position works within the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team at John Hunter Children's Hospital, providing management of services to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit with a wide range of clinical presentations and the ability to work across multiple Multidisciplinary Teams.
* In the 7-bed PICU Unit, you will be the sole Therapist assessing and treating respiratory conditions, initiating early rehabilitation and promoting developmental care within the unit, Monday to Friday.
* Collaborate with JHH ICU Physiotherapists and Medical Staff in the wider ICU Department to ensure seamless cover across 24 hours, weekends, and public holidays. Work with MDT of Intensivists, Registrars, RNs and Allied Health to ensure best practice, family-centred care.
* Non-clinical duties include representing Allied Health in the PICU Executive Forum and National/Statewide PICU Network meetings and collaborative projects.
* Education and upskilling for junior staff who cover the unit after hours and nursing staff education when requested.
* Support is provided by the Level 5 Head of Department for Paediatric Physiotherapy with regular clinical supervision and opportunities to participate in all aspects of the Paediatric Physiotherapy Department, including regular in-service programs and opportunities for upskilling and attendance at external seminars and conferences relevant to the role.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
* Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
* Willingness to regularly participate in an on-call roster, including the ability to commence work at the John Hunter Hospital within 30 minutes of a call out.
* Experienced, skilled professional with extensive Paediatric rehabilitation experience and ICU Physiotherapy management and treatment.
* High level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with external agencies and internal stakeholders.
* Experience in conducting Quality Improvement activities and a commitment to clinical improvement, evidence-based practice and updating professional skill and knowledge.
* Ability to lead planning and evaluation of team activities, independently problem-solve and supervise students and/or less experienced staff.
