Area of Work: Overall Melbourne - Position starts ASAP.

Passionate about nature, open spaces and gardens? Do you think and live Green? Then this role might be for you, we are seeking a Gardener (qualified Gardener/Horticulturalist) for our new environmental maintenance area.

In this role you will, take a leading role in your day-to-day garden maintenance duties, work within construction sites and work closely with a small, dedicated team to provide regular garden maintenance.

Our Ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a love for managing gardens to ensure our open spaces thrive and flourish and be enthusiastic about having a variety of responsibilities.

This work is physical, so a good level of health and fitness is required, and the ability to manage your own time effectively with limited supervision is the key.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued experienced Gardener / Horticulturalist you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

brush cutting

hedging

weeding

chemical spraying

planting

litter pick up

mulching

monitoring flora health, treating appropriately

minor preventative maintenance on equipment and tools

general garden upkeep; keeping spaces clean and tidy

assess each site, identify and communicate key tasks to action.

maintain adequate quality control to ensure no rework is required.

liaise with traffic and traffic management personnel.

coordinate and deliver quality services to contract specifications.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, candidates must have:

Proven experience as a Gardener / Horticulturalist with a solid understanding of plant care techniques - essential.

Have completed your Certificate III or above in Horticulture or Land Management – desired

Permanent Australian work rights - essential; visa sponsorship for this position is not offered at this time.

White Card (Construction Induction Card) - essential.

Valid Victorian Drivers License (P Plate or Full License) - essential;

ACUP/ Chemcert or experience with Herbicide application – essential.

Traffic Management Certificate - desired, but not mandatory.

First Aid Certificate - desired, but not mandatory.

A positive attitude, great work standards, and easy-going personality to work as part of a team - essential.
