About the role:
As a Lab Assistant in the microbiology laboratory, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the lab which include laboratory analysis. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Sample preparation in accordance with laboratory test method and quality management system requirements.
2. Analysis of water and wastewater according to NATA standards, including data recording, result calculation, and timely reporting.
3. Assist Lab Technicians and Analysts with more complex water and wastewater sample analyses.
4. Operation and maintenance of basic laboratory equipment and general duties.
5. Use of LIMS for worksheet preparation, data entry, and job tracking.
6. Perform other relevant duties as directed.

1. Experience or awareness of microbiological laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
2. Understanding of quality management systems relevant to laboratory work.
3. Proficiency in MS Office and computer skills.
4. Associate Diploma or higher in Laboratory Techniques.
5. Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
