Volunteering Central Coast is seeking a reliable, organised and compassionate Temporary ACVVS Coordinator to support our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) for a 6‑month period.
This is rewarding work that has a real impact — ACVVS helps connect socially isolated older people with volunteer friends, offering companionship, conversation and a sense of belonging. It's a friendship‑making service that makes an enormous difference to the wellbeing of older people who may otherwise spend long periods of time alone.
This role covers suburbs north of Wyong, including Toukley, Gorokan, Lake Munmorah, Charmhaven, Budgewoi, Blue Haven and surrounding areas. It will join two other ACVVS Coordinators who work on our program.
About the Role
The ACVVS Coordinators plays a vital role in:
* matching volunteers with older people living in aged care
* maintaining strong relationships with aged care facilities
* promoting social connection for older residents who experience loneliness
* ensuring the program operates smoothly and consistently during a staffing transition
You'll be the main point of contact for volunteers and facilities in the northern end of the Central Coast.
This role offers a mix of independent work, relationship building, admin tasks and meaningful community impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, onboard and support ACVVS volunteers
* Match volunteers with aged care residents and monitor how visits are progressing
* Build strong, reliable relationships with aged care facilities
* Conduct introduction visits, check‑ins and volunteer debriefs
* Maintain accurate records and ensure program compliance
* Promote volunteering opportunities in the northern region
* Provide steady, predictable communication to volunteers and facilities
About You
You will thrive in this role if you:
* enjoy supporting volunteers and building relationships
* are organised, reliable, and confident managing your own workload
* have experience in community services, aged care, or volunteer coordination
* communicate clearly and compassionately
* understand the importance of boundaries, wellbeing and safe practice
* are comfortable travelling across the northern end of the Central Coast
Qualifications or experience in:
* Aged Care, Community Services, HR, Social Services or related area
* Volunteer coordination or a similar community support role
Other requirements:
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Ability to work independently with good planning and follow‑through
* Administration and database skills
* Current driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
* Willingness to comply with aged care visitor and vaccination requirements
Work Details
14 hours per week | 6‑month contract | Immediate start
Work from office (Gosford) and travel to northern facilities; some WFH flexibility if the successful candidate lives in the northern end of the Central Coast.
