The Position
Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist (Psychiatry - including Forensic Mental Health). The position may require work at any facility, with the Central Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service, serving a 900-inmate male prison, with female and juvenile inmates.

Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of :
* A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
* A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

The Hospital
With 331 beds and specialized services, this medical center is the largest in the area. The Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialized care for adult patients with mental health, substance abuse, and alcohol-related issues in the catchment area, which covers over 250,000 individuals. The main service center for this region maintains strong affiliations with specialized mental health services in southeast Queensland, the RANZCP Post Graduate Training, the Queensland Branch Training Committee, and the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School.
The Requirements
* Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
* The position requires a candidate with a solid background in psychiatric practice. The successful candidate will also demonstrate extensive skills in facilitating effective mental health care across the continuum of Forensic Mental Health across, Prison, Court, Watch House inpatient and community settings and within a multidisciplinary environment.
* Eligibility for accreditation as a RANZCP-approved supervisor.
