Dandenong Community & Learning Centre – Dandenong VIC
Volunteers wanted to help our Community Garden in the heart of Dandenong thrive
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, this space offers a chance to learn, contribute, and enjoy the perks of nature.
Located next to our woodwork community shed, the garden features individual plots available for hire, allowing community members to plant, nurture, and harvest their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We also run weekly gardening sessions, where volunteers and learners work side by side, exchanging tips and supporting each other.
The garden plays a vital role in our cooking programs, providing fresh ingredients for meals prepared in our hospitality and community lunch sessions. It’s more than just a place to grow food; it’s a space for connection, sustainability, and shared learning.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Help with weeding and maintaining the communal gardens
- Plant and maintain seasonal fruit and vegetables to share
- Work with a team of volunteers
