Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Resource Definition Geologist to take a lead role in advancing a major gold project through the Pre‑Feasibility Study (PFS) phase. This is a high‑impact opportunity for a technically strong geologist who enjoys driving resource confidence, leading teams on site, and working closely with multidisciplinary study groups.
About the Role
You will oversee resource definition drilling, geological interpretation, domaining, and data quality to support mine design and scheduling. Working FIFO, you'll be a key link between geology, engineering, metallurgy, and project teams to ensure high‑quality geological inputs into the PFS.
This role suits someone who enjoys both on‑site leadership and technical delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead a strong safety‑first culture across geological and drilling activities
* Plan, manage, and optimise resource definition drilling programs
* Deliver geological interpretations and support resource modelling
* Ensure QA/QC, data integrity, and PFS‑level confidence in all datasets
* Collaborate across mining, geotech, metallurgy, and study teams
* Mentor and guide geologists and field crews
* Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within the resource definition program
* Prepare geological inputs for reports, study documents, and presentations
What You'll Need
* Bachelor's degree in Geology (postgraduate beneficial)
* 8+ years' experience in gold geology-resource definition, mine geology, exploration, or study‑based roles
* Experience contributing to PFS or Feasibility Studies
* Knowledge of structurally‑controlled gold systems and resource estimation
* Proficiency in software such as Leapfrog and QGIS
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on study timelines
