Join the site team for an exciting large-scale hybrid Solar PV and BESS project in Queensland. In this role, you'll lead the full on-site delivery of the BESS and substation works, coordinating construction, civil, electrical, and HV activities while supporting the successful integration of the hybrid renewable energy project.
INTEC is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Site (BESS & Substation) to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all BESS and substation works, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality project delivery. You will coordinate across engineering, construction, HSE, and client teams, managing subcontractors and ensuring delivery aligns with contractual, statutory, and grid requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all on-site BESS and substation construction, testing, and commissioning activities
* Coordinate OEMs, electrical contractors, and balance-of-plant subcontractors to achieve project milestones
* Manage civil, structural, HV plant, protection, control, and SCADA works, ensuring interfaces with Solar PV and grid connection
* Provide regular reporting on project health, risks, and progress to Senior Project Manager and leadership
* Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and grid codes, including HV/EHV energisation and WHS regulations
* Oversee handover to O&M teams, including as-built documentation, test reports, and lessons learned
About You
* Experienced managing multi-contractor environments and complex HV/grid-connected works
* Skilled in coordinating interfaces with parallel BESS or substation scopes to ensure smooth delivery
* Strong leadership and communication, motivating teams and influencing stakeholders
* Able to resolve technical and logistical challenges on site while maintaining high-quality standards
* Confident in reporting project health, risks, and progress to senior leadership
