About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Launch Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturing and Support line of business based at SA- Edinburgh Parks, reporting to the Engineering Launch Manager. As the Senior Production Launch Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading production launch mechanical engineering activities, developing manufacturing processes and systems to successfully transition new products from design through to full-rate production within the Advanced Manufacturing business. Key responsibilities include: * Lead the development of mechanical manufacturing processes such as machining, fitting, surface treatments including machining and inspection strategies for new products, and redevelopment for products undergoing significant rate changes, including selection of appropriate machinery and equipment. * Conceptualise manufacturing solutions and produce accompanying defendable estimates for new product bids as the Mechanical subject matter expert (SME). * Review technical data packs for completion, correct configuration and manufacturability. If product falls within the mechanical engineering discipline, personally perform technical review seeking further SME input as required. * Apply engineering governance to the design of processes, tools and documentation, ensuring technical requirements, design intent and quality requirements are met in a safe manner and in accordance with company processes. * Collaborate effectively with customers, internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture. * Provide advice to the stakeholders on the delivery of production mechanical engineering tasks. * Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve production mechanical engineering practices. About YOU * Tertiary degree level qualification in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline, and relevant engineering experience enabling eligibility for admission to the Institution of Engineers Australia, as a Chartered Professional. * Extensive mechanical engineering experience in a design or manufacturing capacity. * Engineering experience with design for manufacture, and the ability to coordinate complex production engineering activities. * Good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Self-motivation, agility to adapt to a changing environment, and driven to improve current process and solve problems.
