* Position Brief – Senior Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to manage strategically significant projects that deliver tangible outcomes for the City and its community.
Working under the broad direction of the Specialist Coordinator, Program and Project Delivery, this role offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. You will collaborate closely with program and project professionals within the Enterprise Portfolio Office and engage widely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with organisational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple projects to achieve strategic objectives
* Define and govern project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resourcing in alignment with organisational goals and P3M methodology and frameworks
* Lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional project teams, delegating tasks effectively and fostering a high-performance culture
* Communicate regularly with stakeholders to align expectations, manage dependencies, and resolve issues
* Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring strong financial governance and cost control
* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
* Oversee project delivery to ensure activities remain on track and meet agreed quality standards
* Measure and report on project performance against objectives, KPIs, and benefits realisation
* Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Project Managers, Senior Project Officers, and Project Officers
You will liaise extensively with a broad range of stakeholders, including:
* Internal Senior Leadership Team members
* Internal Governance Committee members
* Internal Service Line Leaders and stakeholders
* External contractors and consultants
About You
You are a confident and collaborative leader with strong program and project management expertise and the ability to operate independently in a complex environment. You bring excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and a proven ability to deliver outcomes in a public or enterprise setting.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Brings
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Project/Program Management, or equivalent relevant industry experience
* PRINCE2 Practitioner (or higher) or equivalent certification
* MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) or equivalent certification
* Current Class C Driver Licence
