NES Fircroft partners with a world leader in mining to seek an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for an initial 3-month contract position on-site in Central Queensland.
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will deliver engineering solutions by reviewing maintenance strategies and defect elimination activities to maintain compliance, improve operating performance and availability, ensuring reliable and safe operations of assets including crushers, screens, and chutes.
About the Role
Main job responsibilities include:
* Identifying and planning engineering works considering requirements, priorities, and budgets.
* Developing and optimizing long-term asset management plans and asset maintenance strategies.
* Data acquisition and analysis to identify, prioritize, and implement improvement opportunities.
* Conducting complex fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into equipment defects and implementing defect elimination countermeasures.
* Providing support to the Capital Project and Engineering team for operational readiness of new and upgraded equipment.
About You
As the successful candidate, you possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
* Extensive experience in mining, minerals processing, or similar heavy industry environments.
* A sound understanding of reliability-centered maintenance and the ability to develop preventative maintenance strategies.
* Excellent analytical and investigative skills, specifically in root cause analyses for fixed plant equipment.
* Experience with Bulk Materials Handling Equipment – Conveyors, Chutes, Hoppers, Product Bins & Tanks, Process Plant Experience inclusive of Gyratory Crushers, Screening, Pumping & Piping Systems (Slurry & Process water).
* Exposure to and experience with classified plant processes (cranes & pressure vessels) and maintenance support requirements.
* Basic knowledge of Electrical & Control systems and Mechanical Structures and the ability to work with Engineers from these disciplines.
* Proficiency in software such as SAP, Microsoft Office, OnePM, and Apollo RCA.
* Experience in deploying Asset Management standards and practices.
