Engineering Manager – SaaS Scale-Up (Remote, APAC)
JS Careers has been engaged to find an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the technology function for a fast-growing SaaS scale-up in the logistics technology space. This is a high-impact leadership role, driving technical strategy, architecture, security, and delivery while managing a distributed engineering team across APAC. You’ll be instrumental in scaling a global SaaS platform, balancing speed and stability, and ensuring the organisation is future-ready as it enters its next stage of growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack, frontend, and DevOps engineers
- Own technical strategy and application/infrastructure architecture (Ruby, MongoDB, Flutter, AWS)
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and incident response
- Act as Data Protection Officer, driving cybersecurity and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC2, PDPA)
- Champion AI tools to boost engineering velocity and efficiency
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align engineering priorities with business outcomes
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
What we’re looking for:
- Hands on experience with either Sinatra or Padrino - must have
- Proven leadership in a high-growth SaaS environment
- 4+ years hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- 3+ years’ DevOps & cloud infrastructure experience (AWS)
- Experience leading distributed remote teams in APAC
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance frameworks
- Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver at pace and scale
