The role supports a portfolio of Premium and Select brand hotels in the Melbourne market and is responsible for generating profitable revenue, increasing market share and driving brand awareness by creating and leveraging marketing programs.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and executing the hotels' marketing strategies in alignment and collaboration with the Director of Brand, Marketing & Digital and support from the wider team. The MBMD also works with hotels' Sales, Revenue, F&B teams and leans on Marriott's Field Marketing and Digital teams as well as appointed agencies to ensure effective pull through of plans.
**The successful applicant will**:
- Act as marketing lead for their portfolio of hotels, managing the hotels' marketing plans, campaigns, and channels to drive brand awareness and revenue
- Partner with property teams to deliver on business plan goals, providing marketing leadership and support to hotel departments
- Collaborate with Field Marketing and Digital teams and leverage agency support to effectively manage content, campaigns, media plans and promotions
- Ensure all communication materials, advertising, digital and social media channels are on brand voice
- Develop and manage the hotels' strategic social media plan, content calendar and activities
- Plan and execute F&B campaigns for the portfolio of hotels
- Engage with owners and hotel GMs to represent the discipline and deliver marketing reports/updates
- Maintain frequent, active engagement with the Director of BMD to ensure alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about status, performance evaluation, opportunities and issues related to programs and initiatives
- Leverage public relations to drive hotel and brand awareness, serving as both a contact point for hotels as well as the Area Marketing team
- Develop PR-worthy stories to drive PR buzz for the hotels in local and national media building brand reputation and hotel image
- Establish, maintains and strengthen positive relationship with relevant regional and local media contacts, key opinion leaders, influencers bloggers and content creators
- Manage external vendors and media agencies; collaboratively partners with agency partners to identify strategic opportunities for the hotels
- Create and execute digital marketing campaigns and media plans for the hotels and its different business units (venues, spa, etc.) in collaboration with the Digital team
- Lead destination marketing projects as required, actively identifying market opportunities
**About You**:
- Tertiary qualified with a degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business or related major
- Minimum 4+ years in a marketing management role; hospitality/tourism marketing experience preferred
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Proven leadership skills
- Creative, proactive and collaborative
- Ability to connect-the-dots, develop new ideas, approaches and solutions
- Metric-driven marketing mind with eye for detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently; a good team player; and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
