Key ResponsibilitiesConduct independent risk assessments of harm to self or others, including acute or chronic riskProvide psychoeducation related to mental health conditions, symptoms and treatment options to individualsDeliver individual or group-based brief, skill acquisition focused interventions aimed at developing coping skills and building resilienceMaintain a high level of knowledge and contemporary understanding of psychopathology, diagnostic classification systems and clinical and psychometric assessment tools
About YouExperience in psychological assessment and intervention for adults with mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, or developmental disordersKnowledge of risk assessment tools and rehabilitation strategies in correctional settingsStrong communication skills for engaging diverse client groups and stakeholdersAbility to apply research-based practices to offender rehabilitation
RequirementsGeneral or provisional registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (or eligibility to obtain registration upon commencement)Bachelor's degree (4-year minimum) in Psychology or Behavioural ScienceCompliance with National Psychology Board and AHPRA registration standardsProfessional Indemnity Insurance if engaged in secondary employment
