About The Role
The role provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery, including comprehensive secretariat duties across a range of committees and meetings. This includes the preparation, coordination and distribution of agendas, minutes and other key documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality and security across all business practices.
You will utilise your knowledge and skills in rostering and recruitment within NSW Health systems, confidently accessing relevant databases, programs and system updates to support efficient workflow and task completion. The role also involves managing physical and financial resources to ensure effective service delivery and successful project outcomes.
An essential component of the position is the management of complaints in line with NSW Health policies, working collaboratively with Executive Management to ensure timely and appropriate resolution. You will contribute to decision-making across multiple operational areas, assisting in the review and enhancement of systems and processes.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who demonstrates ethical values, professionalism and a positive approach that fosters cooperation and strong working relationships. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and initiative to achieve quality outcomes, while actively supporting patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. Through these efforts, you will contribute to promoting the best possible health outcomes for patients and supporting a culture of safety, quality and innovation.
This is a Full-Time Permanent role based at the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
About You
You are an experienced administrative professional with demonstrated capability in delivering high-level support within a senior leadership environment. Your advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills enable you to manage challenging situations with confidence and professionalism.
Highly organised and proactive, you excel at problem-solving, prioritising complex workloads and consistently meeting deadlines. You bring strong digital competency, with advanced skills across key software programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and various spreadsheet and graphics tools.
You work effectively with limited direction, exercising sound judgement, initiative and independence. Your expertise in preparing professional documentation including reports, papers, agendas, minutes and diary management ensures seamless coordination across all areas of responsibility.
With excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, you build productive relationships and liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels, both within and external to the MNCLHD. You also hold a current driver's licence and are able to travel as required, supporting flexibility and responsiveness across the role.
