**How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne**:
The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work. It strives to ensure that Melbourne is a city for all, one that is liveable, healthy and vibrant and meets the needs of a diverse and growing population.

The Parking Services Branch is responsible for the end-to-end planning, management and enforcement of parking in the City of Melbourne. The team works to ensure the availability and turnover of kerbside space across the city to optimise its benefits for businesses, residents and visitors. The Branch is responsible for educating and enforcing the parking laws as prescribed in the Road Safety Act and according to parking signs in the street.

The Parking Data Lead is integral to supporting the City of Melbourne's commitment to "building on insights and data to better understand Melbourne." This role brings specialised expertise to enhance Parking Services' data analysis and business insights capabilities. The role focuses on integrating these capabilities into everyday operations, empowering operational teams within Parking Services to make informed decisions and take effective action through clear and impactful communication of data and analysis.

**In addition, the Parking Data Lead will be accountable for**:

- Drive the development and delivery of a data roadmap that will be used to underpin the program of work to help deliver a data-driven decision approach to kerbside space management that is financially sustainable, best-practice and innovative.
- Support the delivery of strategic plans, ensuring they relate to and deliver on relevant goals and objectives and deliver a positive ROI and measurable impact.
- Design, develop and manage key financial models to support the branch's operational and strategic budgeting processes.
- Perform data analysis activities, including high-quality data collection, business scenario modelling, analysis and interpretation using appropriate tools to support branch teams, media requests, FOI requests, improvement initiatives, and internal requests.
- Provide expertise in extracting key insights from core datasets, including;
- Infringement lifecycle
- Debt management and collection
- Parking enforcement patrol management
- Parking-related data including parking meters and in-ground sensors.
- Community submitted data including reports of illegal parking and customer experience.
- Analyse and interrogate future state models to determine feasibility and viability of proposed changes and translate this analysis into robust business cases using data as evidence.
- Engage in end-to-end project management activities, including brief development and stakeholder engagement.
