Executive Support Role
About the Job
The Joint Parliamentary Service Committee (JPSC) is a key committee of the Parliament, consisting of senior representatives from both houses. As part of the Office of the Executive Officer, this role will provide strategic support to the JPSC and its stakeholders.
This position requires a high level of administrative and project coordination skills, with a focus on delivering quality secretariat services to the JPSC and other committees. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meeting materials, managing correspondence, and providing diary management support to the Executive Officer.
In addition to these core responsibilities, the incumbent may also be required to undertake minor research projects, coordinate activities such as invoice payments and procurement, and participate in performance development planning.
* Providing effective secretariat support to the JPSC and Management Advisory Committee (MAC), including preparing meeting packs and minute-taking.
* Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring quality assurance checks are completed for responses to parliamentary committees, public sector agencies, non-government agencies, and Members of Parliament.
* Undertaking minor research and project work, as required.
* Diary management, monitoring and attending to urgent enquiries on behalf of the Executive Officer to ensure effective issue resolution.
* Coordination of activities, such as invoice payments and procurement support.
This role has been classified as a position of trust, and the incumbent will be required to undergo a satisfactory criminal history record check in line with Parliamentary policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current driver's licence and be prepared to drive to meet business requirements. Some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may also be required.
The incumbent must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive client information and refrain from political activity or involvement in electoral affairs.
