Associate Interior Designer
A leading workplace design studio is seeking an experienced Associate Designer to join its Melbourne team on a 12-month fixed‑term basis with the potential to turn into a permanent position.
This role suits a senior interior designer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading design outcomes, and working closely with clients and delivery teams to create high‑quality, contemporary workplace environments.
Role
* Take a lead role on corporate workplace projects from early concept through to handover
* Partner with clients to translate business needs into considered, functional design solutions
* Manage design programmes, budgets, and consultant coordination
* Work closely with construction and delivery teams to ensure design intent is maintained
* Provide guidance and direction to junior designers
* Prepare and review detailed documentation, FF&E schedules, and specifications
* Attend site, respond to RFIs, and assist with contract administration
* Contribute to the ongoing development of design processes and standards
About you
* 10+ years' experience in interior design or architecture, ideally within workplace or commercial interiors
* Demonstrated experience operating at Associate or Senior Associate level
* Strong technical capability and confidence delivering detailed documentation
* Advanced Revit skills
* Comfortable managing client relationships and project teams
* Solid understanding of Australian codes, consultant coordination, and construction processes
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Architecture
