Overview

Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland. The Department

The Malignant Haematology, Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Services (MHTCTS) at The Alfred collects, processes and cryopreserves cells for transplants, as part of care for patients with haematological diseases including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and related disorders. We expand cellular therapy capabilities as a standard-of-care and clinical trial site for CAR-T therapies. The service also collects cells from unrelated donors for bone marrow transplants in patients across Australia and internationally.


The Role

We are seeking a Head of Quality to provide senior leadership and governance of the Quality Management System (QMS) across clinical, laboratory and GMP environments within MHTCTS. The Head of Quality will lead the MHTCTS quality team and work with clinical, laboratory and organisational stakeholders to ensure robust quality systems, validation frameworks and continuous improvement across all service areas. This role provides end-to-end quality oversight across the cellular therapy pathway, from collection through processing to clinical delivery.


Qualifications And Experience Required

The successful applicant will have:

* Tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior quality management or leadership role within regulated healthcare environments, including cellular therapy services operating within regulated and GMP environments.
* Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and governance of QMS aligned with NATA, TGA (GMP), Stem Cell Donors Australia and FACT-JACIE requirements within hospital-based cellular therapy services.
* Proven ability to lead audit readiness, validation programs and regulatory engagement, including sponsor and accreditation inspections.
* Strong working knowledge of cellular therapy operations, including cryopreservation, with the ability to provide quality oversight of analytical methods and their validation.
