Positions
Established trawling company working in the Australian Fishing Zones, seeks the following full-time fishing industry positions: Ship Master, Ship Engineer, Master Fisher, Ship Officer, Deckhands & Fishing Hands, Seafood Processors.
This company maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace; employees can be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. This is a condition of employment. You will be based in the above region but may be required to work in other locations subject to operational requirements.
Responsibilities and expectations
For all positions, you must provide verifiable references. You should be prepared to work on a deck, often in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces. Ranked positions may include managing fishing operations aboard your vessel in consultation with the company owners. You will be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks, with typically short turnarounds before returning to sea.
In all cases, remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.

The annual salary ranges for full-time employees in the relevant occupations are approximately:
• Ship’s Master: $120,000 or greater (subject to negotiation)
• Ship Engineer (Fishing): $72,000 to $82,000
• Master Fisher: $75,000 to $82,000
• Ship’s Officer: $72,000 to $82,000
• Deck and Fishing Hands: $68,800 to in excess of $78,000
All the above occupations include government-regulated superannuation guarantee.
Seafood Processors
We are seeking highly experienced seafood processor workers for our processing area. We have both full-time and seasonal vacancies. For the Seafood Processor position, a minimum of 2 years of experience with verifiable references is preferred.
Your duties may include some or all of the following tasks: unloading fresh seafood products from vessels, moving seafood products to chillers/freezers/live tanks, sorting, dressing and filleting fish with a proven ability to maintain a high recovery rate, sorting and cleaning shellfish and crustaceans, loading seafood products into trucks, packing bone-free and filleted seafood into cartons, inspecting and grading fish and shellfish for size and quality, packing fish and counting packs before freezing, operating machines that slice, peel, skin, crumb and package seafood, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Ensure that all workplace safety regulations are complied with.
Wages for Seafood Processors
The salary for this full-time position is between $68,800 and in excess of $78,000 per year plus superannuation guarantee (as applicable by government regulation) for highly experienced workers.
