Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payments Engineer to develop and enhance a large-scale payments environment within a regulated enterprise. This role will focus on the configuration, integration, and support of Connex Payments platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across critical payment services.
Base pay range
A$1,300.00/daily - A$1,400.00/daily
Responsibilities
* Develop and enhance a large-scale payments environment within a regulated enterprise.
* Configure, integrate, and support Connex Payments platforms to ensure high availability, security, and performance of critical payment services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Min 5 years\' experience developing FIS Connex or similar EFT/switching platforms.
* In-depth knowledge of ISO 8583, EMV, and card payment transaction flows.
* Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and system administration.
* Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, VPN).
* Familiarity with ATM/POS terminal protocols and host interfaces.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in financial services, banking, or payment processing environments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Knowledge of other switching platforms (e.g., ACI Base24, Postilion, Way4).
* Experience with fault-tolerant architecture.
* Exposure to API integration, microservices, or message queues.
* Understanding of card issuing/acquiring systems.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
