About the Role
Baptistcare is seeking a part‐time Occupational Therapist to join our residential aged care team at our 98 bed Gracehaven in Rockingham.
Depending on your location, a pool car may be available for travel to Rockingham, and vehicles can be reserved in advance and collected from our Belmont head office.
Responsibilities
* Assess residents to identify their capabilities and develop personalised care plans aimed at supporting their physical and emotional well‐being.
* Work closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator to develop and review programs that promote residents' independence and quality of life.
* Provide leadership and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners to ensure care plans are effectively implemented.
* Conduct assessments, monitor residents' needs, and build trusting relationships with residents based on dignity and respect.
* Listen to family concerns, provide guidance on changing needs, and refer for additional support when necessary.
Qualifications
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
* Strong understanding of contemporary Occupational Therapy practices, particularly within the aged care sector.
* Sound knowledge of the key issues and challenges faced in aged care.
* Passion for applying your skills to support and improve outcomes in aged care settings.
* Proven ability to work effectively within a multi‐disciplinary team.
* Skilled in contributing to care planning and delivery through collaboration and negotiation.
* Strong understanding of the importance of a team‐based approach to client care.
* Ability to build meaningful connections with older people.
* Demonstrates empathy, respect, and understanding in all interactions.
* Committed to maintaining dignity and enhancing quality of life for clients.
* Ensures individuals feel heard, valued, and supported.
