About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join their Major Programs portfolio. This is a critical role responsible for managing complex ICT contracts and ensuring value for money across large, mission-critical programs that support major technology and business transformation initiatives.
Major Programs (Commercial, Procurement and Evaluation), you will manage a portfolio of large and complex contracts and lead sourcing, negotiations, financial governance and commercial risk management across major programs.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, finance teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality commercial outcomes aligned with program business cases and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of ICT contracts across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with established procurement and governance frameworks
* Lead sourcing activities for new products and services, including end-to-end procurement and managed services sourcing
* Provide commercial and contractual advice to stakeholders, including input into business cases, funding requirements and service level agreements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and external vendors
* Monitor vendor performance, lead negotiations, manage service credits and deliver KPI and value-for-money reporting
* Review and manage commercial, financial and procurement risks across the major programs portfolio
* Provide oversight to ensure projects meet financial, operational and outcome targets
* Develop financial models, budgets, forecasts and variance reporting to support executive decision-making
* Establish and report on performance and evaluation standards across commercial and procurement activities
Key Challenges:
* Managing diverse contractual arrangements including panel, hardware, software and services contracts
* Balancing competing stakeholder priorities across large, complex programs
* Navigating high-pressure environments with multiple dependencies and governance requirements
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Extensive experience managing large, complex ICT contracts within a government or highly regulated environment
* Strong end-to-end procurement and contract management expertise
* Proven experience developing financial models for major ICT programs
* Sound understanding of government procurement, financial and tendering frameworks
* Demonstrated ability to manage risk, negotiate outcomes and influence senior stakeholders
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Tertiary qualifications in business, legal, computer science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Contract Details:
* Contract until 30 June 2026
* Extension highly likely
* Immediate start
* 40 hours per week
