Our Midvale Engineering Workshop plays a critical role in delivering technical excellence—and we're looking for a Supply Officer to help keep it running smoothly.
About the Role
As our Supply Officer, you'll be the backbone of our inventory and logistics operations. Reporting to the Lead Engineer you'll manage the flow of spare parts and consumables, support engineering builds, and ensure our workshop is stocked, organised, and efficient.
Key Duties
* Purchasing and receiving inventory items (spares and consumables) and approving invoices for payment.
* Processing sales orders and communicating with the Commercial and Business teams in relation to the status of orders and shipment information.
* Packaging, labelling, and dispatching goods against sales orders.
* Booking in freight and pickups of sales orders.
* Unloading incoming parts and packing into the inventory store.
* Loading outgoing goods onto courier/freight vehicles (most orders are small packages that don't require loading with a forklift).
* Raising purchase orders for freight and approving freight invoices.
* Maintaining inventory stock levels.
* Keeping the inventory store neatly laid out and parts clearly labelled.
* Performing a monthly Stocktake of inventory items.
* Handling internal transfers of goods to other JOHNEX explosives sites.
* Stock adjustments relating to equipment builds, warranty replacements etc.
* Managing stock and internal communications relating to warranty replacements.
* Returning damaged or faulty equipment to suppliers for repair or replacement and keeping track of associated costs.
* Maintaining equipment registers (for key assets including pumps and controllers) to accurately keep track of location, ownership, and condition.
Secondary Responsibilities
* Purchasing and logistic assistance to support the Lead Engineer and Project Engineer with builds and projects.
* General purchasing to support the Midvale facility.
* Assisting with housekeeping, maintenance tasks, and cleaning of equipment (e.g. pumps & controllers) returned from client sites.
What You'll Bring
* Experience with MYOB Greentree or similar purchasing & inventory management platforms.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
* Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
* Mechanical/technical aptitude and commitment to safety.
* Practical thinking and ability to perform manual tasks in a workshop environment.
* Sound organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks, follow‑up, and achieve outcomes in a timely manner.
