Turoosi Pty Ltd is a privately owned company with approximately 1500 employees across 20 facilities in Victoria, Brisbane and NSW, providing a full range of raw and cooked food solutions across a range of proteins to the retail and food service sectors.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our poultry processing operation in Thomastown, Victoria. This role will form an integral part of the senior management group and is responsible for all aspects associated with the Thomastown facility including manufacturing and engineering, whilst also providing onsite support to other functions.
Specifically, the role will provide strategic direction, high level leadership and guidance to all aspects of the operation to achieve sustainable growth and maximise business performance.
Responsibilities
* Own & pro-actively manages the site safety performance
* Ensure appropriate quality systems are in place & business/customer quality & food safety expectations are met
* Develop the expenditure budgets and deliver results in line with budget
* Prepare and submit relevant financial reports and analysis as requested
* Manage throughput and cost control of the site to deliver company targets
* Enhance the opportunities for growth through the analysis of unprofitable products and processes.
* Build and manage internal/external partnerships to ensure the delivery of strategic objectives within the marketplace
* Ensure the strategic alignment of the site to the Turosi business strategies and initiatives.
* As a member of the Senior Management Team, participate in all business long and medium term planning, strategies and decisions, with the aim of maximising the performance and efficiency of the business
* Ensure business systems are constructed and maintained to best practice standards facilitating company-wide high performance
* Provide innovative alternatives to the organisation's standard processes, whilst ensuring relevance to business and the industry.
* Identify and/or champion process improvement opportunities that improve the sites product quality, safety, plant efficiency and operating costs.
* Develop a strong and consistent culture within your Site in line with Company values
* Proactively build a positive team environment, coach & mentor direct reports to deliver both personal and business success.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you will have substantial experience in a senior role, preferably in poultry, meat processing, food manufacturing or a related FMCG manufacturing environment. You will be suitably qualified and have an ability to develop cross‐functional relationships with sound leadership & general management experience in particular. Your excellent communication and people‐management skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others while effectively handling internal pressures will be essential. Your change management, prioritisation and problem‐solving skills will be highly regarded.
