Add expected salary to your profile for insightsOpportunity to travel and work in remote Indigenous Australian communities in the NTVehicle Licencing Trainer$102,614 - $121,8546 weeks annual leaveSalary package up to $15,899 per yearOpportunity to travel and work in remote Indigenous Australian communities in the NTAbout Batchelor InstituteBatchelor Institute is the only First Nations dual sector tertiary education provider in Australia.About the roleThe Trainer is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative VET programs underpinned by the Batchelor Institute Both-ways principles of practice in the areas of Civil Construction, Transport and Logistics.DutiesConduct effective pre- and post- training ACSF assessments of learners.Delivery of Driver training and assessments to meet licensing and employability based on successful applicants’ relevant qualifications through a range of flexible methodologies.Prepare training plans and enrolments forms and associated resources required for the effective and efficient delivery and assessment of courses.Demonstrate awareness of VET educational theories; determine applicability of theories to the learning needs of individuals and groups and contribute to development of resources and programs based on the Batchelor Institute Learning and Teaching Framework which generates authentic learning experiences and to the design of flexible learning strategies.Use strategies and skills to ensure learner engagement and achievement of leaning outcomes; create supportive learner inter-relationships; use a range of technologies effectively.Demonstrate understanding of the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence and contribute to the development of assessment tools, or modify existing ones, to suit learner needs and specified context.Employ a range of methods to ensure principles of assessment and rules of evidence are met in assessment processes and decisions as well as participate in validation processes.Liaise with enterprises and community to ensure teaching and assessment reflects current industry practices and community values and aspirations. In addition, participate in enterprise and community networks to enhance own knowledge and skills.Maintain vocational competency relevant to own subject area; keep up to date with industry changes; participate in relevant industry and community events/networks/consultation.Undertake travel throughout the Northern Territory and while staying on country to deliver workshop block training and assessment.Liaise with enterprises and community to ensure teaching and assessment reflects current industry practices and community values and aspirations. In addition, participate in enterprise and community networks to enhance own knowledge and skills. Also be/ or become affiliated with Northern Territory MVR to deliver and assess light rigid to Multi Combination truck licences.Skills and ExperienceDemonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations.The successful candidate must possess a relevant vocational qualification of Certificate IV in motor vehicle driver training TLI41222 Heavy Vehicle Specialization Group B or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 3 years Industry / professional / vocational experience. A candidate who is already an approved MVR assessor would be highly regarded or willing to become affiliated with MVR for the driver training position.The successful candidate must have the minimum vocational teaching qualification; Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education. Also, must hold Certificate IV in motor vehicle driver training TLI41222 Heavy Vehicle Specialization Group B.Demonstrated understanding of and ability to comply with VET management and administration policies, procedures and business rules and an understanding of the Standards for RTO’s 2015 and relevant legislation and ensure compliance in own work practices.Must be able to undertake travel throughout the Northern Territory by land, sea and air (e.g. in light aircraft), possess a Northern Territory ‘HR’ class driver’s licence with experience driving on unformed roads.
