Responsibilities
* Implement and monitor Strategic Direction 1 of the School Excellence Plan.
* Develop, implement and evaluate the HSIE Faculty Plan.
* Oversee the HSIE Curriculum and Assessment Compliance Process (Years 7-12).
* Provide professional supervision to the faculty.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of high-quality, evidence informed, HSIE teaching and learning programmes aligned with the new incoming NESA syllabi, including effective coordination of assessment processes to improve student achievement.
* Capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to identify, develop and lead initiatives aligned with school priorities and the Strategic Improvement Plan.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community to support engagement, well-being, and whole-school priorities at Rooty Hill High School.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programmes.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
