Driven by energy transition focus, decarbonisation targets and population growth, the Resources sector continues to accelerate capital investments in discovering and developing new assets, whilst optimising existing operations. From assessments through to closure, Jacobs is well placed to support them on that journey.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for working as part of our Resources Hub team to the pursuit and delivery of key opportunities within the new energy and resources sector, including studies from our clients in new energy and resources and downstream delivery phases of studies and sustaining capital works. This role will work alongside other Engineers, providing project delivery, design management and project management. The role will support the management of the section in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the portfolio within Jacobs.
The primary focus of the role will be to support studies from our clients in new energy and resources but may also cross over into downstream delivery phases. This appointment will focus on developing a Jacobs offering that leverages our existing multi-disciplinary capability providing a unique value proposition for our clients. Where gaps are identified in Jacobs existing offering you wall assist to articulate and recruit to fill these gaps. The role will work alongside Engineers, providing project delivery, design management and project management and will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects.
Qualifications
* Relevant Tertiary Engineering Degree (Professional Registration CPEng highly regarded) and demonstrated professional experience in civil engineering predominantly within the Mining Resources Sector.
* Robust knowledge of international and local Civil engineering methods, applicable codes and specifications associated with resources projects.
* Experience with various aspects of the planning, design processes, construction methods and interface requirements of multi-disciplinary projects.
* Solid knowledge of project planning, study, detailed design and close out resources and new energy projects, with sound knowledge of current design standards
* Familiar with the delivery methodology including initiation, development and delivery phases, the specific requirements and levels of accuracy as well as design maturity required at each delivery gate for resources and/or new energy clients.
* Experience in delivering EPC and/or EPCM projects held in high regard.
* Experience in working with or managing offshore discipline team held in high regard.
* A strategic and innovative mindset coupled with the ability to solve complex problems, using strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others.
