**Job description**:
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS6 Program Support Officer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in Elizabeth.

The Younger People in Residential Aged Care (YPIRAC) team is part of the newly formed YPIRAC/Hospital Interface Branch. The YPIRAC team provides specialised support for people with disability who are living in, or at risk of permanently entering aged care facilities. The team play a key role in the implementation of the government's YPIRAC Strategy for participants aged under 65 years. The team works with health liaison officers (HLO), Agency Policy and Mainstream Interface teams, and National Delivery.

The Hospital Interface team provides an important link between state and territory hospital staff and the Agency. The team works with hospital staff to ensure participants who are medically ready for discharge have the right supports in place when returning to the community. The team works with planners, participants and hospital staff.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Leading and/or managing staff responsible for providing business administration support, expertise and/or technical knowledge across a range of activities including systems, workload management, people performance, financial, staff lifecycle, knowledge and change management.
- Providing accurate and specialised advice, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks across multiple portfolios.
- Assessing and maintaining quality processes and documentation relating to service delivery, ensuring alignment to legislation and policy, and utilising change and risk management principles to ensure impacts are communicated to relevant parties.
- Coordinating and analysing data and written information for the purposes of drafting branch level communications and/or high level internal and external communications including reports, advice, presentations and communications for Ministerial, Parliamentary and executive responses.
- Collecting and auditing workforce planning and capacity data, reporting on staff lifecycle and confirming against financial, systems and people performance data.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation, from data analysis to creating initiatives to provide efficiencies for the branch.
- Proven work experience in a similar role
- Team management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong engagement with multiple stakeholders
- Organisation and time management
- Experience in the disability, health, or aged care sectors
- Case management experience is highly desirable
- ** An understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is highly desirable.**

This role is at the APS6 level equivalent offering $60.26 per hour + 11% super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave.
