Key Job Responsibilities
This position involves providing technical leadership in the management, integration, and optimization of SCADA and control systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and other critical assets.
The role includes overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, driving innovative solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity requirements.
You will be responsible for performing SCADA system health checks, daily operations monitoring, and change management to maintain system reliability and functionality. Additionally, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for major projects, including construction and commissioning phases, ensuring principal requirements are met.
About You
As an Electrical / Control Systems Engineer with extensive experience working in a heavy industrial setting associated with SCADA systems, your knowledge of managing distributed assets and ability to develop & implement strategic operational initiatives will allow you to thrive in this role.
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and their application. Familiarity with the National Electricity Rules & regulatory frameworks is also required.
* A proven ability to provide technical support and advice to diverse, remote operator teams.
* Proficiency in scoping, specifying and delivering large-scale projects.
* Well-developed communication skills.
* Familiarity with functional safety qualifications is advantageous.
* Possess or be eligible/willing to obtain Chartered Registration with Engineers Australia.
